Whitby Town Council requested permission to start preparing a Local Neighbourhood Plan for Whitby, and Scarborough Borough Council have approved this. A Neighbourhood Plan could be very useful in blocking the selling of new build houses for other than primary residence. This process can be very long and drawn out (often taking many years!), but Whitby Community Network is ready to provide any assistance it can if Whitby Town Council requires support in developing this.
