A concerned resident has obtained maintenance reports for Whitby Cliff Lift. The lift has been closed since 2021, and is currently threatened with having the lift shaft “infilled for £600k”.
The reports are as follows
- Inspection report for the Lift Housing (building at the top) from 03/03/2016.
- Inspection report from 07/01/2020.
- Inspection report from 22/10/2021 and 17/11/2022.
The reports highlight problems that have been ongoing for years, marking things needing fixing …. but did they get any maintenance subsequent to these reports stretching back years?
